Impeccable classics Abu Dhabi Festival


The program of the 8th annual Abu Dhabi Festival 2011, traditionally organized by the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, ADMAF, promises to be very diverse and rich. This Fund was created in 2004 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Information and Culture. In 2007, the Festival passed under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. In addition to the fact that world-famous musicians and performers from around the world will take part in this Festival, a variety of directions will be presented within its framework, including music, dancing, jazz, ballet and fine art.

The 8th Abu Dhabi International Music Festival will once again be held from March 19 to April 4, 2011 under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and its main theme will be the slogan: "Harmony for humanity." The festival program announced by the organizers is striking in its richness: large-scale and solo concerts, theater performances, exhibitions, seminars, discussions and numerous public educational programs throughout the country.

Thanks to the successful partnership of the organizers with Poland last year, Belgium will also take an active part in the festival by organizing a performance by the soloists of the famous elite Belgian chapel Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, master classes by the artist and sculptor Isabelle de Borchgrave, as well as discussions with Paul Dujardin, Director General of the Center fine art in brussels.

Passionate lovers of classical music will have the opportunity to enjoy listening to the greatest masterpieces performed by the Belgian Royal Chamber Orchestra Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the Russian National Orchestra under the direction of conductor Valery Ovsyannikov, world famous pianists: Abdel Rahman El Baha from Lebanon, Kristia Khudziy from Ukraine, Russian American piano master Efim Bronfman, Ukrainian violinist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky and Ukrainian violist Maxim Rysyanov.

The opera gala concert, along with other world stars, will be attended by the outstanding Russian baritone Dmitry Hvorostovsky and soprano Ekaterina Syurina, who, accompanied by the Russian National Orchestra, will perform a program composed of works by Rossini, Mozart, Verdi and Puccini.

In a ballet gala concert entitled "Max and Irina represent the stars of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky" stars of the Russian ballet scene - Irina Dvorovenko and Maxim Belotserkovsky will perform. Musical accompaniment of the gala evening of the Russian ballet - Russian National Orchestra (conductor - Valery Ovsyanikov).

Remembering the successful symbiosis of classics and jazz in 2010, the world-famous American jazz performer and Grammy winner Al Jarro was invited to this year's Abu Dhabi Festival. Expanding the artistic and genre horizons of the festival, its new guests this year will be: the American contemporary dance troupe PUSH Dance Company from San Francisco, the French prima ballerina Silvi Guillem and the British choreographer Russell Malifant.
