Dubai hosted the 2nd international parachuting championship

From 2 to 5 January 2011 in Dubai, under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of the Emirate, the 2nd International Parachuting Championship and the Persian Gulf Cup for Parachuting DIPC & Gulf Cup 2011 were held. The organizers of the championship were: Aviation Association UAE and Skydive Dubai. Competitions of athletes who arrived in the UAE on January 5 and passed the preliminary selection on January 6 and 7 officially began on January 8, and lasted until January 16 inclusive.

This year they were held in three main categories: swoop - piloting high-speed parachute canopies, group acrobatics (fours) and classic parachuting. 90 pilots from 28 countries of the world took part in the swoop competitions, 26 teams, including six women's, from 17 countries (including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine) and more than 100 participants in the classic parachuting competition took part in group acrobatics coming from 28 countries.
