Film, film, film ... comes to the UAE

Imagenation Abu Dhabi, owned by the government group Abu Dhabi Media, as well as production studio Parkes / MacDonald Productions announced the creation of a joint venture designed to finance projects for new feature films. A new venture with an initial capital of $ 10 million will invest in projects of the Parkes / MacDonald production studio, which actively collaborates with the Hollywood film studio DreamWorks Studios, in the art and documentary projects of Imagenation Abu Dhabi and other large UAE studios.

Family couple Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald set up their own production studio, Parkes / MacDonald Productions, in May 2005. These producers have created and produced films such as Catch Me If You Can, American Beauty, Terminal, Gladiator, Island, and many others.

Imagenation Abu Dhabi, established in September 2008 with the assistance of the government of Abu Dhabi, is actively collaborating with Hyde Park Entertainment, National Geographic and Participant Media, as well as producing studios in the Middle East. The company’s portfolio includes feature films such as Robert Rodriguez’s Wish Stone, Peter Weir Long, Fair Play and Dag Lyman’s Revenge of the Fluffy. Well, it seems that the Emirates are entering the era of creating their own cinema with a professional approach to producing. Good luck
