RAK FTZ Awarded SCATA Awards 2009 in the Industrial Zone of the Year Award

The Ras Al Khaimah Free Economic Zone (RAK FTZ) won the Industrial Zone of the Year Award at the prestigious Supply Chain and Transport Awards (SCATA), annually celebrating the success of Middle Eastern industrial organizations.

The luxurious award ceremony, attended by more than two hundred senior officials from the entire Middle East transport and logistics sector, was organized by ITP Business and was held at the five-star Dubai hotel Mina A'Salam. The nomination "Industrial zone of the year" is designed to highlight the best industrial region or free economic zone, providing world-class services of the Middle East freight forwarding industry, benefits and advantages, high level of customer service and successful marketing.

The prize was awarded to RA Director General of the RAK FTZ Osama El Omari, who thanked all those present for such a high award, and noted that "the hard work that they carried out during the year was deservedly noted by the commission."

The Free Economic Zone of Ras Al Khaimah is interested in protecting the environment and attracting the latest technology from the best companies in the world, therefore it carefully selects projects that guarantee high standards of environmental health and safety. Today, RAK FTZ employs companies from 106 countries, making this industrial area one of the fastest growing in the region.
