Dubai's new Meraas beachfront will open this Sunday

The first part of the grand recreational area La Mer in Dubai will be launched this Sunday.

Representatives of Meraas Holding confirmed that on Sunday, October 15, in the Jumeirah area in Dubai, the first phase of La Mer beach resort will be launched.

The complex has an area of ​​13.4 million square meters. ft. built in Jumeirah 1 area near Dubai Marine Beach Club. It will consist of three zones: La Mer South, La Mer North and The Wharf. For starters, we should expect the opening of La Mer North and La Mer South. They will become the base for 130 shops, cafes and restaurants.

At the beginning of next year, The Wharf will open, a district in which a cinema, cafes and restaurants will be presented, Meraas said in a statement. Later, a hotel and a new residential community will appear here.

Abdullah Al Habbai, chairman of the Meraas group, said: "La Mer is the seventh project that Meraas has prepared over the past three years after City Walk, The Beach, Boxpark, Last Exit, The Outlet Village and Al Seef."

According to Meraas, the resort will open new restaurants and cafes for the region. It will also feature unique Hawa Hawa entertainment, a trampoline from Japanese public parks.

Work on La Mer began at the end of 2014. The area was built by general contractor Al Futtaim Carillion under a $ 204.5 million contract. The work included upgrading existing beaches, including showers, toilets, providing free Wi-Fi, information centers, mobile charging stations, prayer rooms, four playgrounds and more than 1000 parking spaces.

The project also included the preservation of all corals that are unique to the area, some of which were transplanted by divers.
