Now the house has a soul

Where is she hiding? Of course, in the exquisite figurines of the Lladro! How could it be otherwise? The heirs of the ancient tradition of porcelain, the brothers Juan, Jose and Vicente Lladro, managed to take possession of it and make the art that previously belonged only to the elite belong to everyone.

In 1953, the brothers left their work in a tile factory and built a small Moorish type kiln in the courtyard of their house. In Almaser, a village near the Spanish city of Valencia, they began their epic. And today, next to this primitive workshop, the City of China rose. Every day more than two thousand people come here to work, whose creations are exported to more than one hundred countries of the world and sold in more than 4,000 stores. Despite the international scale, the Lladro factory remains a family business, since all the property is in the hands of its founders, the brothers Juan, Jose and Vicente Lladro and their descendants.

The most characteristic products of Lyadro are classic figurines made of glossy porcelain - slender figures in pastel colors. When creating them, artists always draw inspiration from timeless themes, and fragile figures created in the best traditions of ancient china become the embodiment of new artistic tastes. In addition to porcelain, the company's masters use clay in their works. Clay warmer and stronger than porcelain reproduces the colors and texture of the earth and gives the sculptures a lively look. Enamels used for painting statuettes always crystallize in a furnace in different ways. This gives countless, unpredictable number of color variations ... Each figure becomes unique.

The 2006 collection features more than 50 new statuettes from different thematic series. The line "Table of the Emperor" is dominated by porcelain figurines of oriental monks, incense burners for incense, vases and decorative caskets with characteristic ornaments of China and Japan. The Balance collection contains graceful and graceful sculptures of elephants, tigers, gazelles and fur seals made of dark matte porcelain, contrasting with the lighter shades of the coasters. Following the success of the sculptural composition "Kiss", created based on the eponymous work of the famous Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, "Lladro" creates a smaller version of this figurine. The new “Kiss” is presented in a limited gift series along with the Heart of Fortune pendant from the Talismania collection of fashionable porcelain accessories.
