Dubai residents can download the Dubai Police app on their phone and connect to the home security service.
Dubai police have launched a new service for home owners, aimed at ensuring the safety of the home while the owners are on vacation. The service involves monitoring the house through cameras and motion sensors and is provided by Du and Transguard Group.
To use these services, you need to download the Dubai Police app on your smartphone and enter your data: address of the house and time of absence. Police officers will often patrol a section of the house to prevent theft.
Citizens can also use the services of Du or Transguard companies to install CCTV cameras.
In the event of an emergency, the company will report to the Dubai police. Thus, the police can quickly leave to inspect the house.
Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Chief of Criminal Division of the Dubai Police Department, noted that this is an important step to ensure security in the city and reduce the number of thefts.
"Installing CCTV cameras in the house will stop an attacker who thinks twice before entering such a secure housing. Our goal is to ensure the safety of all residents of the emirate," Mr. Al Mansouri said.
