Dubai police convincingly asks not to call emergency service for nothing

People who call the Dubai police for little reason and spend time with their employees, which can be spent on citizens who really need help.

Dubai police reported several calls to emergency number 999.

An excited mother turned to the staff when she could not find her child. The employees arrived at the call site and found that the child was hiding on the roof of the house, because he did not want to go to school.

Another man called an emergency number in the middle of the night to accuse his neighbor of poisoning chickens.

A little boy called the police to help him find his bike.

The woman called 999 and complained to the maid, who did not like her, and stated that she wanted to replace her with a more competent employee.

The foreigner turned to the police about the bird she found with a broken wing on the beach. She asked to call an ambulance. The police sent a patrol to the scene, which took the woman with the bird to a specialized medical center.

According to police, these are just a few examples of appealing to the service for minor reasons. Emergency personnel accept a huge number of strange applications. Among them are requests to call a taxi, and clarification about taking pills.

Dubai police say some people misunderstand the function of emergency services and call 999 for any reason, taking away the valuable time of employees and preventing people who come up with really important questions from getting help. For general information, the toll free number 901 is provided.
