Flydubai starts flying to Kinshasa (Congo)

Flydubai Airlines has announced the launch of flights to Kinshasa, the capital of Congo.

Dubai, UAE. Dubai-based Flydubai has announced flights to Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), starting April 15th. Flights will be operated daily with a stop at Entebbe en route. As part of the Flydubai partnership with Emirates, flights on this route will be code-sharing.

Flydubai will be the first UAE airline to offer flights to Ngili Airport, also known as Kinshasa International Airport, so passengers from the UAE and the entire region will be able to travel to a new destination in Central Africa.
Commenting on the opening of the new route, Gate Al Gate, Executive Director of Flydubai said: “Africa is a growing and one of the most important regions for the UAE. In recent years, we have seen a strengthening of trade relations. Due to the proximity of the continent and the growing demand for direct flights to Africa, launch flights to Kinshasa will play an important role in the development of trade and tourism in the coming years. "
Kinshasa is one of Africa's largest cities and a vibrant hub that connects cities on the African continent and serves as a hub for intercontinental flights to Europe. The country is known for its large reserves of natural resources. It is the world's largest cobalt producer and one of the main suppliers of copper and diamonds.
“The number of African companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has exceeded 12,000 in 2017, which indicates increased collaboration and opportunities between the two regions,” said Sudhir Sridharan, senior vice president of commercial operations at Flydubai Gulf, Africa and in the Indian subcontinent. "We look forward to the start of flights in this direction and the opportunities to expand our network in Africa in the near future. Passengers, in turn, will receive reliable and high-quality service on board, regardless of whether they travel in business or economy class." - added Sridharan.
