Dubai launches new parking payment control system

The Dubai Traffic and Transport Administration has introduced a new system to control the payment of parking spaces.

Dubai Traffic and Transport Administration (RTA) has introduced a new parking payment control system. The system is called Smart Scan System and is aimed at controlling the payment of parking spaces by motorists.

The system is implemented through a special device on car inspectors, the functionality of which is to detect cars whose owners did not pay for parking.

Mayfa ibn Adai, head of the Agency for Traffic Control, said: “The new system for monitoring the payment of parking fees in public places is aimed at identifying people who knowingly avoid paying parking fees. The system represents another milestone in improving the effectiveness of control over "The traffic management system in Dubai plans to reduce the number of offenders."

It is worth noting that this step is fully consistent with the goal of the country's government to introduce artificial intelligence technologies.

“It is very important to use modern technologies in monitoring compliance with the rules of car parking, besides, now that there is a replacement of standard paper parking tickets with electronic ones,” Mr. Adai emphasized.
