At the airport of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, the repair of the duty free shopping area was completed.

Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, UAE, has opened a new duty free zone after major repairs.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Government of the Emirate, the International Airport Authority and the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA).

Shopping areas at the airport terminals have been modernized due to the increase in the number of passengers in recent years. Currently, large brands are represented here, including Jimmy Choo, Hugo Boss, Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, Diesel, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Channel, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Davidoff, Burberry and Bulgari .

Passenger traffic growth was made possible thanks to increased flights. In particular, it has recently become known that the TUI Group, the largest travel operator, will expand its partnership in Poland with RAKTDA.

In the winter season, the International Airport will also operate two new weekly flights from Russia and a weekly flight from Luxembourg.

Last summer, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, together with RAKTDA, also launched the first direct flight from Prague to the Emirate in cooperation with the Czech tour operator Fischer.

Sanjay Khanna, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, said: “Updating the airport to meet the best international standards is a reasonable step, given the significant role we play in creating first impressions for tourists.”

"We are focused on maintaining the vision of our leaders and are proud to have contributed to the continued growth of the tourism sector in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah," he added.
