The beach in Abu Dhabi was closed for swimming after the appearance of a whale shark.
Dubai, UAE. Al Bahar Beach on the Abu Dhabi promenade is closed until Friday, October 12, after a whale shark was discovered in the coastal waters, the Environmental Protection Agency of Abu Dhabi reports.
"Despite the fact that whale sharks are peaceful creatures, the beach will be closed for security purposes, including health," the report said. Authorities also urged all boat owners to stay away from sharks.
