Electric scooter rental service launched in Dubai

In Dubai, you can now rent an electric scooter.

In Dubai, the Qwikly Mobility electric scooter rental service from Cali technology startup was launched. UAE selected as the first point in the expansion of the company in the Middle East and North Africa.

"Our scooters and technology are aimed at creating an affordable, easy to use and environmentally friendly ecosystem for daily commuting." explains Amri Chaladi, Qwikly's regional manager in the UAE.

To rent a scooter, you first need to download the Qwikly application. With it, you can find the nearest available vehicles. To unlock the scooter, you must scan the QR code, after which it can be used. After the trip, the scooter must be parked and the session in the application completed.

Unlocking a scooter costs 3 dirhams ($ US 0.8), and a minute of using the vehicle costs 50 fils ($ US 0.14). Qwikly app users must link a credit or debit card to their account.

To travel, you must have identity documents (Emirates ID) and be over 18 years old. You must also scan a valid driver’s license.

On one charge of an electric scooter, you can drive 35 km.
