Dubai Opera to feature blockbusters with orchestra accompaniment from Armenia

In the coming months, the Dubai Opera plans to stage several popular films, accompanied by an orchestra.

The famous Dubai Opera decided to expand its program with an unusual performance - screenings of famous films with live orchestra accompaniment.

The first film under the new initiative will be Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece - The Godfather. The picture will be shown on the big screen in the opera building on February 28. World-famous compositions by Nino Rota will be performed by the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia. The orchestra will be led by American composer and conductor Justin Fryer.

A movie screening ticket costs 175 dirhams ($ US 48).

In March, viewers will be able to rediscover the painting "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." This time, the compositions for the film will again be performed by the Armenian Symphony Orchestra. Sessions will be held on March 1, from 15:00 to 20:00, and on Saturday, from 14:00 to 19:00. The ticket price will again be 175 dirhams.

“If you haven’t seen a Hollywood blockbuster accompanied by a live symphony orchestra, then you have never experienced the real, incredible power of music that brings a cinematic picture to reality,” said Jasper Hope, executive director of Dubai Opera.

Tickets go on sale today, January 17th. Until January 31, they can be purchased at a 20 percent discount.
