Artificial intelligence fights crime in two districts of Dubai

In two districts of Dubai, the crime rate has been reduced to a historic low due to technological solutions of the police.

Dubai police said no crimes were reported this year at Palm Jumeirah and Emirates Hills thanks to smart security initiatives like Oyoon. They are based on artificial intelligence technologies and big data analysis.

Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police Investigation Department, said: “Dubai police always strive to be number one ... We fight crime using the latest technology and best minds. The Data Analysis Center has been instrumental in solving crimes and identifying gaps in the city’s security system. "

As part of the Oyoon network project, surveillance cameras throughout the city are transmitting real-time security threats to the central command center. Cameras track offenses in three sectors - tourism, traffic and retail. Police use artificial intelligence and face recognition technology to track criminals.
