Who is BOSS here?

OF DESIGNERS BORN IN SEPTEMBER UNDER THE SIGN OF LIBRA, IT IS ESPECIALLY TO MARK THE YOUNG DESIGNER OF THE TAIWAN ORIGIN JASON WU. ARTIFICIALLY VARIABLE BETWEEN OWN BRAND AND GERMAN HUGO BOSS CONGLOMERATE - IT IS NOT A SIMPLE CASE. WE DECIDED HOW IT HAS BEEN MANAGED TO SAVE THE BALANCE.

The name of Jason Wu, oddly enough, is associated with the White House. The pet of the first lady became famous for her brilliant classic-style collections at Fashion Weeks in New York, and for the inauguration of her husband for president in 2009, Michelle Obama chose a dress from Jason Wu. A sophisticated Asian who always looks like a needle attracted the attention of the world community, especially of an important state person. At nine years old, his family moved to Vancouver, where Jason learned English from scratch at Eaglebrook School and began to read fashion magazines. He liked applied arts and sewing, and, like many future fashion designers, he began to train on dolls, learning to create interesting models of clothes. Jason's work was so unusual that at the age of sixteen the young man was invited to collaborate with the toy company Integrity Toys. The release of a separate line of doll clothes developed by the designer was so successful that after only a year, Wu was appointed creative director of the company.

A calm, confident young man always defended his opinion in all matters. While studying at the prestigious Parsons The New School for Design in New York and taking an internship at Nasciso Rodriguez Studios, Jason decided to drop out and start his own business. Having accumulated a sufficient amount, in February 2006 he presented the first collection under the label Jason Wu. We must pay tribute to his communicative and business qualities: partially the debut show of Wu in Bryant Park was sponsored by Brizo.

In response, the fashion designer, especially for the Brizo advertising campaign, developed incredibly beautiful and flowing dresses that were captured underwater by photographer Howard Schatz. So a mutually beneficial relationship was born between Wu and an American mixer manufacturing company.

In the east, the patient designer continued to do what he liked. In 2007, after his debut, he was awarded the Rising Star award by Fashion Group International, and a year later he was nominated for the prestigious Vogue Fashion Fund Award design award. However, world fame came to Wu by a fluke. The consultant for Vogue magazine, whose team selected the applicants for the award, turned out to be Michelle Obama's stylist. This man’s name is Andre Leon Telli, he is the right hand of Anna Wintour and the most eccentric employee of the American edition of Vogue. Telly is known for his influence on the fate of young designers, and it is to him that Jason owes his acquaintance with Mrs. Obama. Overnight, Wu turned into a star designer, whose name will forever remain in US history. In 2009, unexpectedly for everyone and even for the designer himself, Michelle Obama decided to appear at her husband’s inauguration in Wu’s creation: a long white ball gown of chiffon, embroidered with beads and glass beads. Michelle immediately became an icon of style, and Jason Wu became a headliner in the fashion world. Later, a dress, manually decorated by Wu personally, was transferred to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

The first lady was then seen more than once in his dresses: she does not change her taste and continues to wear her beloved silk Jason Wu sheath dresses. His aesthetics is a combination of American sports style and modern femininity, and the dresses he created are always perfect for the place and event.

In 2010, the favorite of the presidential family launched the "main sales catalyst" - a collection of bags and shoes Jason Wu. Having conquered the States and having 169 branded boutiques around the world behind him, the designer set his sights on Europe: in 2013, Wu took the position of creative director of the BOSS women's clothing line, the first line of the German company with a century-old past, Hugo Boss.

The designer admits that, in fact, negotiations for his move to Metzingen, where the Hugo Boss headquarters are located, lasted more than six months. A meticulous Taiwanese discussed the details of his contract with no less pedantic Germans. At first, he was very doubtful - after all, basically the word "Boss" was associated with the male line, and not the other way around. And Jason is the creator of purely female fashion clothes. "Before agreeing, I consulted with Diane Kruger. We have been friends with her for a long time, and I unconditionally trust her opinion." After receiving advice from the actress, Wu decided to cooperate. Wu is incredibly modest, even after a brilliant show in New York, where the fashion designer was able to emphasize the traditionally masculine codes of the German company thanks to its iconic elements: sheath dresses that are up to the middle of the calf. He simply explains his success: "As a newcomer, it was easier for me to look at the brand from the side." Nevertheless, he was able to breathe new life into the brand. After several seasons, the female line of the company has greatly strengthened. The laconic design from Jason with its clear concept recalls the Boss's strict cut and "masculine" character. In fact, his main goal was to prove that Boss should go not only for costumes. “Of course, men's clothing and uniforms are an important part of the brand’s DNA. But we can do more.”

Today, the Boss army, in addition to the beloved Jason Diane Kruger, consists of Julianne Moore, Chanel Iman, Kate Bosworth. Celebrity status was firmly entrenched in Wu, but he does not stop. Ahead of new heights, awards, Fashion Week. And he is not afraid: "Before me is the task to create a new world, and I am ready!"
