Kazakhstan

This year we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory in World War II. The words "Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten" has been known to us since childhood. In our country, there is no family that the war has not touched. If 6 million 200 thousand people lived in Kazakhstan before the war, then during the war years, 1 million 700 thousand people went to the front from Kazakhstan, and more than half of them did not return. They gave the most precious thing - their lives - for our future.

As our President Nursultan Nazarbayev said, "We are the children of the victorious fathers. We should honor our veterans and educate young people in a spirit of respect for history." We will never forget the feat of our fathers and grandfathers, who saved the world from fascism.

500 Kazakhstanis became Heroes of the Soviet Union, more than 100 became full holders of the Order of Glory, four of whom were twice awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Among the heroes of that war were the glorious daughters of the Kazakh people - Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova. The Kazakhstan people forged a victory in the rear. Everyone was united in their desire to give everything for the front, everything for victory.

It is worthy to continue the traditions of fathers and grandfathers, to increase the wealth of their native land - the holy duty of the young generation. Our memory lives in good deeds. I congratulate all of you on the holiday of the triumph of peace and harmony! Health and happiness to you, dear veterans of war and labor!
