Dubai airport modernization will increase its throughput by a third

The recently completed reconstruction of the runways of Dubai International Airport will allow serving one third more aircraft every hour. Today, Dubai Airport can serve an average of 33 flights per hour. Dubai Airport’s navigation services plan to raise this number to 45 by 2016.

Dubai Airport recorded a 6.2% increase in passenger numbers in the first half of 2014, despite repairs on the runways in May and June. Currently, about 600,000 flights are served by UAE airports annually. It is expected that by 2025 this number will increase to 1.2 million.
