For the third year in a row, Van Cleef & Arpels has been the exclusive sponsor and partner of Design Days in Dubai. The oldest jewelry house, known for its unique jewelry and unique design, presents this year Franco Cologna’s book “In praise of hands”, glorifying the golden hands of skilled craftsmen, or Mains d'Or.
We see the finished decoration, admire and admire it. but sometimes we forget that behind each of them is the painstaking work of many professionals, from designers who develop a sketch of the product to skilled metal polishers. This exhibition is a tribute to the craftsmanship and special skills of jewelers at home. In our special project, we invite you to look into the “backstage” of Van Cleef & Arpels workshops and plunge into the mysterious world where the masters of Mains d'Or create their delightful masterpieces.
L'ecole Van Cleef & Arpels master class will be held as part of the In Praise of Hands exhibition, during which masters will demonstrate the steps to create a model for future jewelry.
Using various sources of inspiration, jewelers will talk about three steps, thanks to which the product takes its initial shape. This is a sketch, trace and drawing a gouache drawing. then before your eyes a three-dimensional model of tin jewelry will be created.
Each master class lasting 30 minutes can be attended by no more than four guests at a time.
