A water bus may be launched between Dubai and Sharjah

The Dubai Roads and Transport Committee (RTA) is considering launching a new water bus route that will connect Dubai and Sharjah by sea. "After the implementation of the Salik program, we are looking for opportunities to integrate water routes that should connect the two emirates. A feasibility study for the project is being prepared," the RTA noted.

At peak times, there is still a large number of congestion on the roads between the emirates, while the possibilities for expanding existing routes are almost exhausted. The need to develop alternative routes is also due to the constant increase in the number of vehicles in these cities. "Today, buses between Dubai and Sharjah are actively operating, and we see no obstacles to the development of maritime transport," the committee explained.

The department is working on improving the water transport network, which directly affects the increase in the tourist attractiveness of the emirate.
