The most expensive Golden Phoenix cupcake went on sale in Dubai in honor of the opening of a new Bloomsbury Cafe in Dubai Mall. Made using edible gold sheets with a total weight of 23 carats, it is sold at a price of 3.7 thousand drx (US $ 1007) apiece.
It consists of organic flour and butter brought from the UK, Italian chocolate and vanilla beans from Uganda. It is exhibited in a cafe in a golden display case along with a golden spoon coated with chocolate icing, strawberries in gold and other decorations. "We are very pleased to present to the public the most expensive cupcake in the world. We saw precious cakes encrusted with diamonds before, but the edible version was presented for the first time," said Vinay Lal, CEO of Tablez Food Company, owner of the Bloomsbury brand.
