Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan opened a new UAE Embassy in the UK, in London.
The ceremony began with raising the flag of the UAE, after which the national anthems of both countries were sounded. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Alistair Burt, the Minister for International Development and the Minister for Middle East Affairs of the United Kingdom of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth Affairs, removed the curtain from the commemorative painting dedicated to the opening of the new headquarters of the UAE embassy, after which they examined the premises of the new building.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed noted that the opening of the new UAE Embassy in London reflects the desire of the Government of the United Arab Emirates to strengthen bilateral relations with Britain and develop cooperation in various fields.
He also said that relations between the UAE and Great Britain have a long and fruitful history. Strong and effective diplomatic ties became possible thanks to the support and leadership of the leaders of both states. The Minister emphasized the desire of the UAE to strengthen mutually beneficial relations in the interests of the peoples of both countries.
Burt said he was very happy to attend the opening of the new UAE embassy in London, according to the official, this will bring the two states and their peoples closer, and will also strengthen diplomatic relations between the countries.
Senior officials especially emphasized the interest of the governments of the two states in building strong relationships to counter the challenges and threats of the modern world and create effective commercial ties between the economic agents of both countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by Suleiman Hamid Salem Al Mazrui, the UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom and several diplomats, consuls and British officials, as well as the embassy staff.
