From February, to obtain a work visa in the UAE, it will be necessary to provide a certificate of no criminal record.
Starting February 4, 2018, they will require a good criminal record certificate (Good Conduct Certificate) to apply for a work visa in the UAE.
The certificate must be issued in the country of origin of the person submitting the documents, or in the country where the person lived for the last 5 years. The document must be ratified by the diplomatic mission of the state, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE.
The certificate is valid only directly for the person applying for a work visa, as well as for persons who are dependent on him. Persons visiting the country for tourist purposes, or by invitation, such a certificate is not required.
The committee, which is the initiator of this amendment, consisting of representatives of several government bodies, states that this measure was adopted as part of the UAE’s strategy to build a "safe and stable society."
"Our main task is to make the UAE one of the safest states in the world," the committee said.
