In the UAE, a number of fees for the provision of public services have been changed

In the UAE, a resolution was adopted that changes the amount of fees charged for the provision of public services.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, adopted on Monday Cabinet Decree No. 62 of 2017, which contains updated tariffs for services provided by the Federal Agency for Identity and Citizenship Issues .

The resolution amends the tariffs for digital certification services and e-link services. The decree provides for the collection of 5 dirhams for each application, provided that less than 500,000 applications are received through digital certification services and e-link. If the number of applications received exceeds 500,000, but remains less than a million, then the fee for each application will be 4 dirhams, if the total number of applications exceeds one million, but will be less than 1.5 million, then 3 dirhams will be charged for each application. If the number of applications exceeds 1.5 million, then for each application you will need to pay 2 dirhams.

According to the decree, local and federal authorities are exempted from this duty. Article 3 of the resolution establishes a fee of AED 25,000 for subscribing to digital certification services and e-link online portals.

The decision takes effect 30 days after publication in the Official Gazette.

Sheikh Mohammed also adopted the Cabinet of Ministers Decree No. 61 of 2017 regarding notary fees.

In accordance with the decree, the price list of the services in Arabic and English should be placed in the notary's office. The price list should be posted in a visible place, indicate the price of services provided in accordance with the license issued. The Minister of Justice was instructed to take the necessary decisions to implement this decision, which will enter into force 30 days after publication in the Official Gazette.

According to Andrey Panferov, senior consultant at Davidson & Co Legal Consultants, the services of notary offices in the UAE are quite in demand, especially when it is necessary to prepare powers of attorney and other documents requiring notarization. The price list of notary services in English must be placed in a notary office for clients.
