Ramadan Expected Start Date Announced

May 17, according to astronomers, will be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

Dubai, UAE. This year, Muslims around the world expect the holy month of Ramadan on May 17th. This was reported at the Sharjah Space and Astronomy Center. If the forecasts of astronomers are confirmed, then the holiday of Eid al Fitr is likely to come on June 15, and Eid al-Adha on August 22.

The average fasting time will be 13 hours 25 minutes at the beginning of the month and 13 hours 42 minutes at the end of the month. For the first time in 18 years, the fasting period at the end of the month will be longer than at the beginning, because Ramadan will end before the summer solstice.

It should be noted that the onset of the holy month will traditionally be announced by the Committee for Observation of the Moon, which will happen the night before, on the last day of the month of the Shaban.
