The construction of the Shindag Bridge has begun in Dubai

In Dubai, officially announced the beginning of the construction of the Shindagh bridge as part of a multi-billion dollar project on the development of the transport highway.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, laid the foundation for the construction of the Shindag Bridge worth 394 million dirhams. The arches of the bridge will be made in the form of an infinity sign.

The Shindag Bridge is part of the Shindag Corridor project, worth over 5 billion dirhams. According to the plan, the highway will stretch for 13 km along Sheikh Rashid Street, as well as along Al Mina, Al Khaled and Cairo streets.

The opening of the construction took place in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Mattar Al Thayer, Head of the Dubai Traffic and Transport Administration (RTA), as well as a number of high-ranking RTA officials.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Emirates Group General Director Sheikh Ahmad Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, and Sheikh Mansour Mohammed bin Rashid also participated in the launch of the Shingad Bridge. Maktum.

In the opening speech, Mr. Mattar Al Thayer said that the construction of a new bridge is being carried out as part of the third phase of the Shindaga Corridor project, at the moment two stages of the project have already been completed.

The span of the bridge will stretch for 295 meters, 150 meters of which are over the Dubai Creek. The bridge will consist of six lanes in each direction, and there is also a pedestrian crossing on the highway. The height of the bridge is 15.5 m above sea level, which allows various vessels to pass along the sleeve. The construction of the bridge is an architectural arch in the form of a mathematical sign of infinity. The height of the upper "rib" of the sign is 42 m. About 2400 tons of steel will be involved in the construction of the bridge.

Officially, construction began after a symbolic ceremony - Sheikh Mohammed drew the infinity sign of the bridge on an electronic screen.
