UAE will turn desert into farmland

Abu Dhabi is collaborating with a Chinese company in a project to turn the desert into agricultural land.

The capital of the United Arab Emirates has signed an agreement with a Chinese company to transform desert lands into agricultural areas where various crops can be grown.

Under an agreement funded by Mawarid Finance, Chongqing Earthskin may also set up a research center in Abu Dhabi.

According to plans, the project will help reduce the UAE's dependence on food imports by 80-90 percent.

"The UAE attaches great importance to the agricultural sector, despite the limited reserves of land and water in the country, and thus corresponds to the course of the far-sighted leader of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed, who said:" Give me agriculture and I will give you civilization, "" said the chairman Mawarid Abdul Jalil Albluki.

He added that this project will benefit future generations and improve the quality of life.
