University of Dubai prepares staff for eSports

University of Dubai opens a separate course for game developers.

The University of Wollongong in Dubai will enroll students in a four-year course on video game development. The program will open this September.

In the new course, the university will prepare specialists in the field of game design, animation, visual communication, mobile application development, graphic design.

"We are trying to foresee what technical skills students will need in the coming years, and prepare them for work that does not even exist," said Dr. Feras Hamza, head of the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Health.

The course is accredited by the Ministry of Education. Students will be able to obtain degrees at the University of Wollongong in Dubai and Australia.
