TWO US COMPANIES HYPERLOOP TECHNOLOGIES AND HYPERLOOP TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGIES SEPARATELY PRESENTED THEIR PLANS FOR THE CREATION OF A HIGH-SPEED TRANSPORT NETWORK IN THE UAE.
Hyperloop is a trademark owned by SpaceX founder Elon Musk. The technology underlying it describes the movement of passengers using a high-tech transport system at speeds up to 1220 km / h, which is slightly less than the speed of sound (1235 km / h). Thus, the travel time from Abu Dhabi to Dubai can be reduced to 8-15 minutes.
Dirk Ahlborn, director of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, said his company had talks with the UAE government over the possibility of connecting the Dubai-Abu Dhabi route using Hyperloop. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies is currently building the first Hyperloop test track between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, which is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of this year. It also became known that the company has signed an agreement with European government officials, with the result that flights connecting Bratislava with Vienna, Austria and Budapest may appear in the near future. At the same time, Rob Lloyd, CEO of Hyperloop Technologies, said that he sees the UAE as one of the first three markets in which the Hyperloop model can begin to function. Lloyd added that Hyperloop will allow passengers to travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai in 15 minutes, and the train-bullet itself will be able to transport 40 people at once in one capsule.
